“And obviously you had the fans, you had the double decker behind the goal, and you could see what it meant to them. And it was just that bit more special for me, for whatever reason.”
Lennon has also discussed the “huge respect” he has for former rival, the late Walter Smith, who is a legendary figure across the city at Rangers.
He added: “I had a huge respect for him obviously, because of what he achieved in management. When you go into management, you realise what the variables are of the job and the pressure they are under all the time.
“I think he handled it really, really well. He came in and fixed things when Rangers weren’t going so well. He turned it round and brought them back and I think that’s a sign of a great manager.”
