ROY KEANE HAS THE MOST MOCKERY 2026/2027 PREMIERSHIP PREDICTION FOR RANGERS FC AFTER DEREK MCLNNES APPOINTMENT – ITS HEARTBREAKING
The former Hearts boss was recently handed the Rangers job amid hopes that he can rebuild the club and finally end Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football. However, Keane believes the task facing McInnes is much bigger than many supporters realise.
Former Manchester United captain and Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has delivered a verdict on Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership next season, insisting the Ibrox club are heading for another disappointing campaign despite appointing Derek McInnes as their new manager.

“I don’t see Rangers winning the league next season,” Keane said. “There are too many problems there. Players are leaving, they haven’t strengthened enough and Celtic still look far stronger in every department.”
His comments immediately drew laughter from fellow pundit Jamie Carragher, who joked that Keane had already decided the title race before pre-season had even begun.
Carragher, however, admitted that Rangers have plenty of issues to address.
“Football can change very quickly and a few good signings can transform a team,” Carragher said. “But if you look at where Rangers are right now, you can understand why Roy has concerns. Celtic have stability and a winning mentality.”

“No disrespect to Derek McInnes because he’s a good manager and he’ll work hard,” Keane continued. “But he needs players. He needs quality. You don’t win titles with hope and good intentions. You need top footballers and I don’t think Rangers have enough of them right now.”
The former Republic of Ireland midfielder then doubled down on his prediction and insisted Celtic remain overwhelming favourites to retain the championship.
“If the season started tomorrow, Celtic would walk the league,” Keane said. “I don’t think Rangers can keep up with them over 38 games. Celtic are stronger, more settled and know how to win these big moments.”
