Moore shouldn’t play striker again

Rohl tried the Tottenham loanee as a centre-forward for the first time against Hearts, and it’s become evident that he must end that experiment straight away.

Moore lacks the physicality to play up top and is easily bullied by defenders, with the talented teenager much better used as a winger or number 10.

Michael Stewart recently claimed that Russell Martin placed too much pressure on Moore during his time in charge, and Rohl could be doing similar.

To rely on a teenager to play number nine was a questionable decision that clearly backfired, so when Rangers host Motherwell next Saturday, the German boss must immediately use Moore as a winger.

Ultimately, Moore’s best attribute is isolating defenders in one-on-one situations with his pace and low centre of gravity.

Mohamed Diomande was lucky to avoid a red card in Rangers’ 2-1 loss to Hearts, Keith Hackett has said.

Diomande had a horror show as Rangers sank to their first league defeat in Danny Rohl’s tenure, and he was replaced by Youssef Chermiti at half-time at Tynecastle.

Before he was taken off, Diomande caught Oisin McEntee with a late tackle, but he was not booked, and VAR did not get involved.
