Chris Sutton demanded that Yang be withdrawn at half-time against Dundee as he questioned why the winger started instead of James Forrest.
The pundit was baffled by the team news, with Yang favoured on the right flank but slaughtered his performance at half-time.
The pundit suggested Yang doesn’t know exactly what he is going to do when he is on the ball as he simply stated: “Just get him off”.
On Sky Sports, Sutton said: “He’s got to take Yang off. I mean, down the right side, Celtic this season, they just haven’t offered enough.
“I do not understand the decision to start Yang in front of James Forrest.
“James Forrest, you knwo he is getting on a bit, but you know what he is going to do. I don’t think Yang knows what he is going to do with the ball himself.
“He gives players the ball when he is finished with it. Just get him off.”
Sutton had his wish granted with Brendan Rodgers making two changes at the break as his side looked to mount a comeback from two goals down.
Yang and Anthony Ralston were withdrawn with Johnny Kenny and James Forrest introduced to the Scottish Premiership contest.
The Scottish Premiership match between Dundee and Celtic had earlier been halted within seconds due to ‘Sack the board’ chants.
Balls were thrown onto the pitch from the away stand at Dens Park as Celtic supporters protested against the club board.
Referee Matthew MacDermid was forced to halt the match seconds after kick-off with the balls covering large areas of Kasper Schmeichel’s penalty area.
Players and stadium staff then gathered to clear the pitch before play could resume three minutes later.
A banner in the away end read: “Your strategy incompetence is clear, resign.”
