Scotland manager Steve Clarke launches furious attack on Celtic fc after worthless comments from Celtic star over 1-0 defeats against Japan
Scotland boss Steve Clarke says he was disappointed with some fans booing after his side’s friendly defeat to Japan.
Junya Ito’s late winner handed Scotland defeat at Hampen Park but Clarke was left frustrated with the reaction of some supporters.
It disappointed me to be honest,” Clarke said.
“It’s just the modern way, it seems to be now if you lose a game you get booed.
“You have just got to deal with it.
“It disappoints me.”
Steve Clarke, Scotland’s manager, was asked about Daizen Maeda’s impressive performance as Japan captain, and he had this to say:
“Daizen Maeda was excellent for Japan, he was a handful for our defenders. He’s a talented player, and it’s no surprise he’s doing well at Celtic. He’s got pace, skill, and a great work rate. We knew he was a threat, and he showed that tonight.
“I think he’s a top player, and I’m not surprised he’s getting chances for Japan. He’s a leader, and he’s shown that tonight. We had a few scouts watching him, and I think he’s one to watch in the future.
“But, you know, we’ve got our own players to worry about. We’ve got talented players, and we’ve got to focus on our own game. Daizen Maeda’s a great player, but we’ve got to be better than him and his teammates if we want to win.
“He’s a Celtic player, and I’m sure they’ll be happy with his performance tonight. He’s a top player, and he’s got a great future ahead of him.”
Clarke also praised Japan’s performance, saying: “They were excellent, they were well-organized, and they had a great game plan. We struggled to deal with their movement and pace, and they deserved the win.
“But, you know, we’ve got to move on from this now. We’ve got to focus on our next game and get back to winning ways.”
