That victory not only gave Spurs their first trophy in 17 years but also guaranteed them a return to Champions League football next season.

The man who delivered that long-awaited silverware, Ange Postecoglou, was surprisingly dismissed shortly after the season’s conclusion. Daniel Levy acted swiftly, appointing former Brentford boss Thomas Frank as his successor a manager known for maximizing player potential and building resilient squads.

However, despite those numbers, there’s a growing sense that he may not be living up to his full potential especially when weighed against his salary. Kulusevski is one of the club’s top earners, reportedly on £110,000 per week, making him one of only a few players at Spurs who take home over £90k a week.

Yet for a player in that wage bracket, consistent top-tier output is expected and Kulusevski has not consistently delivered in that regard. In the Premier League, he has never managed to hit double digits in either goals or assists in a single season. His best campaigns have seen him max out at eight in each category respectable, but not the level of productivity expected from a club’s attacking linchpin.

This has led to speculation that Tottenham may be prepared to cash in on the 25-year-old, especially as reports suggest both AC Milan and Napoli are monitoring his situation closely. With Thomas Frank reportedly targeting a marquee attacking midfielder described by sources as “one of the best No. 10s in the world” Spurs could be gearing up for a major upgrade in that creative role.

Kulusevski’s versatility, professionalism, and work ethic are beyond question, but in a side looking to take the next step under a new manager, hard decisions may be needed. If Spurs can secure a more consistent, game changing presence in the final third, parting ways with the Swedish forward especially with strong interest from Italy might make strategic sense.
