How Celtic fared on their last trip to Ibrox with away fans as 2,000 Bhoys prepare for Glasgow derby party
For the fifth and final time this season, Celtic will face Glasgow rivals Rangers.
The Bhoys already have the Scottish Premiership title wrapped up and now will be all about getting revenge on their rivals after they were beaten 3-2 at Celtic Park in March.
Kris Boyd isn’t expecting a guard of honour from Rangers at Ibrox whilst Brendan Rodgers hasn’t addressed the issue so far.
It will also be a day to remember for Celtic supporters, with away fans allowed back for the first time in two-and-a-half years.
Celtic fans have been issued a warning before kick off about travelling to Ibrox as they will hope to inflict more misery on Barry Ferguson’s side.
Rodgers’ side haven’t won at their rivals’ home since September 2023, but what happened the last time they had a contingent of travelling fans?

Ange Postecoglou’s side were nine points clear at the top of the table going into the game and got off to an electric start at Daizen Maeda latched onto Alfredo Morelos’ lazy pass to put the Celts one up.
Rangers came out of the blocks after the break and Ryan Kent equalised for the hosts before a foul on Fashion Sakala in the box from Carl Starfelt led to a penalty being converted by James Tavernier.
With only two minutes left on the clock it looked as if the Hoops were going to fall to gut-wrenching defeat, only for Kyogo Furuhashi to save the day with an 88th minute strike.
Not only did it deny Michael Beale a debut win in the Glasgow derby, it also gave those Celtic fans in the ground something to cheer about as they maintained their nine-point gap at the top.
It’s been a mixed bag of results in the last five visits to Ibrox for the Bhoys.
Their most recent trip saw them hammered 3-0 in January 2025 and the last time and although they were still way ahead in the title race, sparked an inquest from some supporters.
Although the result this weekend won’t affect anything in the table, pride will be on the line and a win is the only thing required.
