‘It is clear’ – Lubomir Moravcik puts Rangers in their place after what he’s seen from Celtic this season

Lubomir Moravcik was one of the most talented players ever to have pulled on a Celtic jersey.

The Slovakian attacker, who was labelled ‘A Gift from God’ by Celtic supporters, was once derided in the Scottish media after the Parkhead club was criticised for signing a 33-year-old ahead of John Spencer.

That criticism was thrown back in the face of the media as Moravcik quickly proved all his critics wrong with some sparkling displays under Dr Jo Venglos and then Celtic legend Martin O’Neill.

But it’s back to the present day where the Celtic hero sends a grim warning to Rangers which will be music to the Hoops supporters’ ears as the Parkhead club stands on the brink of yet another treble

Lubomir Moravcik tells Rangers ‘Celtic are miles ahead’

With Rangers ending yet another season trophyless, Celtic are sweeping up all the domestic trophies once more and Moravcik has a message to the Ibrox support.

Moravcik told The Sunday Post, “I’ve watched Celtic a number of times this season.

“I was in Glasgow last week and the game against Rangers at Ibrox was on.

“I watched it on the television and it was perfectly acceptable for Celtic not to lose the game.

“It is clear for everyone to see that they have a much more talented squad than Rangers and, over the course of a league campaign, Celtic are miles ahead.”

Moravcik delivers grim warning to Rangers about Celtic’s strength

With the San Francisco 49ers on the verge of a Rangers takeover, Moravcik has urged Celtic not to stand still.

The Slovakian midfielder has told his old club that if they continue to invest shrewdly in the transfer market, Celtic will dominate Scottish football for a number of years to come.

But you need to keep improving. It is important not to stand still or believe you are the finished article.

“I’m sure Brendan knows what he would like to do this summer and we must all hope he is able to sign the players he feels can take the team to a higher level.

My own view is that the team is very solid and very competent. They look as though they will continue to dominate Scottish football for a while.

“But they must look to take the next step. For me that should be finding someone who can really cut teams open.”

Moravcik will always be remembered for his displays for Celtic as he destroyed Rangers on numerous occasions during his five years at the club.

Picking up two league titles, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups, Moravcik gave Celtic supporters many precious memories and they will be hoping that Brendan Rodgers delivers another one in the Scottish Cup final this month.
