Muscat will take the Rangers job after Russell Martin was sacked, but only when his commitments with Shanghai Port are finalised on 22 November.

“The most important thing is getting your best players where they can hurt the opposition. It’s the fundamentals of football.

It’s hard to be critical of any Rangers striker because they aren’t getting anywhere near enough chances. Rangers are also losing far too many goals, giving up too many chances, too many shots on their goal. That would be the job for any manager to try to make that better.
