Kyogo furuhashi posted something about rangers and quickly deleted it but fans are quick to screenshot

In a dramatic twist that has left Celtic supporters shocked and confused, former Hoops hero Kyogo Furuhashi  now playing for Ligue 1 side Rennes  briefly posted on social media about potentially joining Rangers. Though the post was quickly deleted, it was live long enough for fans to take screenshots, and it has since spread like wildfire across social media, stirring fierce reactions from both Celtic and Rangers supporters.

The short-lived twitter story reportedly featured a photo of Kyogo in training, along with a caption that read:

“Glasgow still feels like home… you never know what the future holds. Rangers? Tempting.”

Though the post vanished within minutes, the damage was already done. Fans were quick to screenshot the story and repost it across platforms, leading to an explosion of speculation and outrage. Many Celtic supporters were left in disbelief — not only because of the content but because of who had posted it.

Kyogo, who joined Celtic in 2021 and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his incredible work rate, humility, and crucial goals in big matches, had been considered by many as one of the most beloved players in recent club history. Rangers fans, unsurprisingly, reacted with a mix of amusement and excitement. “Would welcome him with open arms,” one fan tweeted, along with the screenshot. “Can you imagine him up top at Ibrox? Beautiful football and complete chaos.”

Neither Kyogo nor his representatives have issued a public statement addressing the post. From the Rennes camp, there has been no official word either  though insiders say the club is likely to address the situation if it continues to escalate online.

Given the emotional ties between fans and players, and the level of rivalry involved, even a momentary mention of switching sides can ignite a firestorm — as Kyogo is now learning.
