REAL MADRID NEWSXabi Alonso begins new era at Real Madrid with passion and purpose – ‘I will give my all’

Xabi Alonso has officially begun his journey as Real Madrid’s new manager, stepping into the role with excitement, pride, and a deep sense of duty.

In an exclusive interview with Real Madrid Play Sessions, the former midfield star spoke openly about returning to a club that feels like home.

“It feels amazing to be back at Real Madrid, to see familiar faces, and to start this new chapter with the support and energy of everyone around me.”

A new mission with familiar values
Alonso, known for his intelligence and calm presence on the field, now takes the reins with the same drive that defined his playing career.

“I’ll give my all to ensure we succeed,” he said. “Winning titles is the goal, but to get there, we need daily commitment, strong team spirit, and a deep connection between the players and the fans.”

His philosophy as a coach is shaped by the many managers he worked under. “Each one taught me something valuable about football and leadership. But now it’s about defining my own style, my own playbook,” Alonso explained.

His years as a midfielder helped him understand the importance of team balance and communication.

“Back then, I had a clear view of the game. Now, as a coach, I need to stay close to the players, understand their emotions, and support them every step of the way.”

Eyes set on the Club World Cup
One of Alonso’s first tests will be the Club World Cup. With the competition now stretching, the schedule is more demanding than ever. “It’s going to be intense,” he said.

“We have to work smart, get to know each other quickly, and form a strong unit. The talent is there and our squad is full of world-class players.”

As he wrapped up the interview, Alonso shared a heartfelt message for the fans.

“I’m thrilled to start this new era. We need your support and energy. With all of us together, we’ll achieve great things. A big hug—and Hala Madrid!”

Eder Militao has seen close to two seasons destroyed through injuries and it is catastrophic how he suffered back to back ACL injuries in both legs – the second being weeks after recovering from the first.

The player missed most of the ongoing season due to the injury and has been working hard on the sidelines to push for a return at the earliest.
