WASHINGTON – Juventus made a resounding statement in their Club World Cup debut, thrashing UAE giants Al-Ain 5-0 in a Group G encounter at Audi Field, Washington. Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceição both netted twice, while rising Turkish star Kenan Yildiz added his name to the scoresheet in a dazzling display of youthful brilliance. The dominant performance puts Juventus atop Group G alongside Manchester City, who defeated Wydad Casablanca 2-0 earlier in the day.

“We played a great game, and I’m happy to start the tournament like this,” said French striker Kolo Muani, who continued his fine form with five goals in his last six matches. “I finished last season well, and we’ve started this one just as strong.”

Juventus set the tone early, controlling possession and tempo. In the 11th minute, full-back Alberto Costa delivered a perfectly floated cross that Kolo Muani met with a towering header at the far post to open the scoring. Just ten minutes later, Costa was again the architect, carving down the right wing to find Conceição, whose deflected shot soared past Rui Patrício to double the lead.

Yildiz extended the advantage in the 31st minute, cutting inside from the left and curling a precise shot off the post into the net, capping a scintillating first-half performance by the Bianconeri. As Al-Ain attempted to push forward before the break, they were caught out once more. A sharp pass from Khephren Thuram released Kolo Muani, who deftly guided the ball into the net with the outside of his boot for his second goal in stoppage time.

Al-Ain showed brief signs of life early in the second half. A goal was disallowed for offside, and captain Kodjo Laba forced a late save from Juve keeper Michele Di Gregorio in the 49th minute. But any hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Conceição struck again in the 58th, dancing in from the right and drilling a low finish past Patrício.

Patrício later denied Kolo Muani a hat-trick with a reflex save in the 66th minute, and Douglas Luiz nearly added a sixth late on. Juventus, inspired by their young talents, now turn their focus to a Sunday showdown with Wydad Casablanca in Philadelphia. Al-Ain, meanwhile, faced a daunting task against Manchester City in Atlanta the same day.
