Tottenham star “Harry Kane’s Post-Match Comments on Wolves SPARK Media Frenzy”
Every department of Leeds United’s squad will have to be upgraded in the summer to give them a fighting chance of competing in the Premier League next season.
A new striker is thought to feature high on the Whites’ priority list, with doubts over Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford’s long term futures. Joseph flattered to deceive in the 2024/25 season and Bamford found regular game time hard to come by due to injury issues and the impressive form of Joel Piroe in attack.
A TEAMtalk report states United have added Troy Parrott to their striker shortlist as they prepare for life in the top flight. The report says the Republic of Ireland international, who signed AZ Alkmaar from Tottenham last summer, is being watched closely by the West Yorkshire club. It has been claimed the Whites, who have also been heavily linked with moves for strikers Evan Ferguson, Josh Sargent and Cameron Archer, have discussed Parrott internally, although they have yet to make any formal enquiries yet.
Parrott has enjoyed an impressive season for AZ, hitting 20 goals and contributing across 45 matches across all competitions. Wolverhampton Wanderers are also said to be big admirers of the 23-year-old
AZ paid around €8m (£6.8m) to recruit Parrott, who is contracted to the club until 2029. TEAMtalk report an offer in the region of €20-25m could tempt the Dutch club to cash in on the player.
Parrott joined AZ last summer following a season-long loan at Excelsior. He notched 17 goals in 32 appearances but was unable to save Excelsior from relegation.
After a frustrating spell at Tottenham, Parrott is now thriving in the Netherlands. In an interview with the BBC in early March, Parrott said: “I’m here, I’m really enjoying myself here, I love life over here. Now I’m just focusing on where I am right now and trying to progress and keep getting better here
