While he stopped short of ruling out another Arsenal approach before the transfer window closes, he emphasized that any renewed bid would face significant resistance.

Shearer believes selling Guimaraes after already parting ways with Gordon would send the wrong message to supporters and undermine the progress Newcastle have made.
The former England striker pointed to Guimaraes’ impressive performances for Brazil at the World Cup, describing him as one of the tournament’s standout midfielders and one of Newcastle’s most valuable assets.
Shearer admitted he would be shocked if Newcastle allowed the midfielder to leave, adding that he hopes the transfer rumours are nothing more than speculation.
He warned that supporters would react angrily if the Brazilian departed, arguing that social media often fuels unfounded stories and expressing hope that the reports linking Guimaraes with Arsenal ultimately prove to be unfounded.
