Nottingham Forest rescued a dramatic point against Newcastle United in a fiery 1-1 draw at the City Ground  but it was manager Vítor Pereira who completely stole the headlines after delivering a brutal post-match message that left supporters stunned.

Pereira praised the midfielder’s mentality and revealed how proud he was of his player’s resilience during such a heartbreaking period. 

However, the biggest talking point arrived in the middle of Pereira’s press conference when he appeared frustrated by the noise coming from sections of the travelling Newcastle support.

The Forest boss admitted his side were physically drained after a brutal fixture schedule that included their recent Europa League semi-final defeat and a huge league win at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Howe reportedly described Anderson’s departure as one of the toughest decisions the club had to make due to financial restrictions. 

The draw leaves Newcastle facing fresh criticism after dropping more points from winning positions this season, while Forest moved one step closer to securing survival after an extraordinary few weeks under Pereira.
